Once a seam opens, rain gets behind the board and rot starts before you can see it. Exterior trim needs more than a quick repaint; it must keep water out through every wet stretch.
New trim enhances every window and corner. It also helps paint or siding look finished at the edges. This detail improves curb appeal in the neighborhood.

Sealed Exterior Trim Solutions
When trim boards peel, crack, or swell, they let rain and rot damage your siding. A complete trim replacement seals these weak spots, keeping water out and protecting your home’s structure.
Our team removes the damaged trim, primes and installs new boards, then seals every seam with flexible, weather-resistant caulk. With exterior trim in Vancouver, we also repaint to match so your home looks clean and stays protected for years.
Hatzic is in the Fraser Valley, where homes experience heavy rainfall and high humidity for much of the year. This constant moisture speeds up rot and swelling in exterior trim, making strong, well-sealed installations essential.
Many older homes in the area still have original wood trim that has softened and split over time. Replacing it with modern, moisture-resistant materials—and sealing it well—keeps the damp out and improves the curb appeal in Hatzic.
Moisture-Resistant Trim Materials
In Hatzic’s rainy climate, we choose trim materials that do not absorb moisture. Cellular PVC and fibre-cement boards resist swelling, cracking, and rot better than regular wood. We seal every cut end with a primer or end-cut sealer before installation to block water from wicking in.
For fascia and window casings, we use pre-primed fibre-cement with a moisture barrier applied at the factory. Corner boards are made from multiple layers with staggered joints, and all seams are sealed with elastomeric sealant. We use stainless steel or hot-dipped galvanized screws to avoid corrosion from constant dampness.
Trim helps manage water flow. In Hatzic, we connect trim with the home’s drainage plane so any moisture that gets behind it can escape. The water-resistive barrier is layered under trim flanges in a shingle style, directing water downward and out.
Wind-driven rain can be a problem when storms funnel up the Fraser Valley. We secure trim to structural framing, not just sheathing, to resist suction and strong winds. Behind larger trim profiles, we add a vented air gap that allows the cavity to dry, preventing trapped moisture that can cause rot.
