We replace worn-out sashes with new vinyl or fiberglass windows. These come with dual-pane Low-E glass and warm-edge spacers. This creates a tight fit that reduces drafts, lowers street noise, and keeps room temperatures steady during wet seasons.
Coastal storms bring heavy rain to Mission homes for months. This constant moisture damages wood frames, causing rot and swelling. That’s why airtight installation is so important.

Window Installation in Mission

For exterior capping, we use pre-bent aluminum coil stock to cover the old wood trim. We also put a sloped sill pan under each window before installing it. This helps direct any rain away from the wall, which is important during Mission’s heavy seasonal downpours.
A window opening is a break in the building’s drainage system, which protects the walls from rain. In Mission’s wet coastal climate, we connect the window’s nailing flange with the house wrap using a layered flashing method. The bottom flange goes over the sill pan, while the sides and top are taped in a specific order to allow water to drain out.
This flashing method stops moisture from getting trapped inside the wall. The warm-edge spacer in the glass keeps the inside of the glass warmer, which helps reduce condensation on the frame. Along with the exterior air seal, this prevents dampness that can cause mold and damage to wood-framed walls.
