Aluminum Capping for Windows
For homes in Caulfeild, we use .024-inch pre-painted aluminum coil. This thickness helps resist dents from debris and corrosion from moisture. We bend the metal on site with a portable brake to fit the exact shape of your window and door trim.
Before we cap, we remove old caulk and check the wood underneath. If we find any rotted wood, we cut it out and replace it with rot-resistant PVC trim. We attach the capping with stainless steel trim nails into solid framing, and we seal all seams with marine-grade polyurethane sealant.
