This bylaw limits construction noise to a maximum of 85 dBA measured 15.2 m (50 ft) from the source. It also restricts work hours to generally 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday to Friday and 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Saturdays, with more limited hours on Sundays and statutory holidays.
For properties in the Steveston Area Plan, major exterior changes costing over $50,000 may need a Development Permit in addition to the Heritage Alteration Permit. Smaller cedar siding projects under $50,000 usually do not require a DP, but larger replacements or façade changes that exceed this amount can need DP approval before work can begin.
