In Cedar Valley, heavy rain and cloudy days challenge every seal around your home’s exterior openings. Older wood-framed houses here often have original flashing that is cracked or missing, which puts siding and framing at risk.
The mix of mature trees and sloping lots can direct runoff against walls, so a properly flashed window or door does more than just shed rain. It stops prolonged moisture exposure that can lead to mould and structural damage in our climate.
Flashing Installation Process
In Cedar Valley, we start window and door flashing with a self-adhered membrane sill pan. This sill pan slopes outward past the edge of the sheathing and has end dams to catch any incidental water.
