That outdated look often signals a bigger concern here—trapped dampness damaging what’s underneath. A stone upgrade seals out coastal weather that punishes exterior walls season after season. It turns a potential repair into a permanent defense.
This work also changes how the property feels when you pull into the driveway. The added texture enhances landscaping and makes standard trim around windows and doors stand out with a custom finish that endures.

Durable Stone Veneer Solutions
When siding looks flat and tired, it brings down the whole property. Stone veneer adds natural texture and depth that instantly improves curb appeal and creates a strong moisture barrier.
Our team installs stone veneer as a tough cladding over your existing walls. We use moisture management to protect the structure underneath. This is the same method we apply for every stone veneer installation in Vancouver.
In South Surrey, damp coastal air and frequent rain put constant stress on home exteriors. Without moisture-resistant cladding, siding can warp, rot, or allow water to seep behind the surface.
Many homes here have traditional or craftsman-inspired designs where stone accents add character and value. Our installations are built to endure the wet winters and salty breezes that come with coastal living.
Stone Veneer Installation Process
We use manufactured stone veneer that resists moisture. The stone is treated with a breathable silane-siloxane seal to repel rain while letting vapor escape. This helps prevent spalling during the wet winters in South Surrey.
We start with a rainscreen system that includes a water-resistive barrier over the sheathing. Next, we add a drainage mat to create a capillary break. Metal lath is attached to the studs, and we apply a scratch coat of polymer-modified mortar. The stone is set in a full bed of mortar, with weep screeds at the bottom to direct water out.
The metal lath is fastened with corrosion-resistant fasteners into the wall studs. This provides a strong anchor against wind uplift, which is common in coastal South Surrey. We reinforce the fastening pattern at corners and edges to handle strong winds.
Behind the stone, a drainage plane channels any water that gets through the stone down to the weep screed. This rainscreen setup prevents moisture from being trapped against the sheathing, which reduces the risk of rot and mold.
Flashing details at all transitions, such as sill pans at windows and kickout diverters at roof-wall intersections, ensure water is directed away from the building. These details are important where frequent rain tests the exterior.
