Permit Requirements for Heritage Mountain
A building permit is needed before starting renovations in Heritage Mountain. The City of Port Moody requires that insulation, vapour barrier, and externally applied vapour or air barrier work must be done before these materials are hidden.
When installing exterior insulation, you must follow the City of Port Moody’s construction hour limits. Work is allowed from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday to Saturday and from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays or holidays for non-profit work, unless you get special permission.
If your home is heritage-designated in Heritage Mountain, you need a heritage alteration permit before doing any exterior insulation work. The bylaw does not allow changes to the exterior appearance without that permit, except for minor repairs or maintenance that do not alter the exterior.
