A chilly exterior means your heating system works harder to keep your home warm. The warmth you pay for escapes through the siding, causing energy bills to rise.
Old cladding can make a home look worn while allowing outside noise to intrude. Quality insulation enhances comfort, reduces noise, and improves curb appeal, all while standing up to our damp coastal climate.

Insulation for Energy Savings
Cold siding lets heat escape, wasting your money. Exterior Insulation adds a layer that keeps walls warm and lowers energy bills.
We attach rigid foam boards to your sheathing and cover them with new siding. This layer stops drafts and thermal bridges, keeping your home comfortable all year.
In Walnut Grove, winter dampness and changing temperatures can harm your siding. Exterior insulation forms a strong barrier that handles these issues without trapping moisture.
Many older homes here do not have enough wall insulation. The Fraser Valley’s moisture can cause mold behind siding. Exterior insulation keeps your home dry and warm, protecting your investment.
Exterior Insulation in Walnut Grove
We begin by attaching rigid foam insulation boards—usually EPS, XPS, or polyiso—directly to your home’s existing sheathing. Long screws with large washers go through the foam and into the wall studs, holding the insulation in place without squashing it. This continuous layer of insulation stops thermal bridges where studs would otherwise let heat escape from the wall.
Next, we put on a weather-resistant barrier or tape the joints of the boards to create a single drainage plane. Then, we attach vertical furring strips to create a ventilated rain screen gap. This gap lets moisture that gets behind the siding drain and dry, which is important in Walnut Grove’s rainy weather. Finally, we fasten the siding, like fiber cement or vinyl, to the furring strips to complete the protective layer.
Putting insulation on the outside moves the dew point outside the wall cavity. This prevents condensation inside the framing during cold, damp weather. In the Fraser Valley, where winter humidity is high, this change is vital to avoid mold and rot in the wall. The continuous insulation helps keep the sheathing warmer and reduces moisture buildup.
The rain screen design creates a gap that allows water to drain and air to flow behind the siding. When wind-driven rain hits the siding, the gap lets water drain out at the bottom and air circulate, helping to dry any leftover moisture. Flashing around windows, doors, and transitions directs water outward at every opening, keeping a clear drainage path during heavy rain that is common in the area.
Construction Noise Regulations
Exterior insulation work is considered construction under the Township of Langley’s Community Standards Bylaw 2019 No. 5448. Noisy work can happen only between 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. on weekdays, excluding statutory holidays. On Saturdays, work can occur from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. There is no construction noise allowed on Sundays or statutory holidays. If your project’s permit value is over $250,000, you must post a construction sound sign. This sign should show the permitted hours and a contact number, and it must be visible from the street.
