Sealing Bathroom Windows

We seal the nail flange with butyl tape, and the exterior trim integrates with the existing cladding to ensure any water runs down the wall properly.
Every bathroom window replacement is treated as a hole in the building envelope that must allow for proper drainage. In Heritage Mountain’s heavy rain, we place the window flashing under the housewrap at the top and over it at the bottom. This way, any moisture that gets past the trim is directed outside without reaching the sheathing.

Repair or replacement of exterior finishes, like siding or stucco, is usually exempt as a minor repair, but anything beyond that may still need a permit.
The City of Port Moody Noise Control Bylaw sets noise limits for construction, alteration, and repair work. It specifies daytime and nighttime sound levels, and any work that exceeds these limits needs permission from the City Administrator or their designate.
If your home is in the Moody Centre Heritage Conservation Area, you need a Heritage Alteration Permit before starting any exterior changes. This rule does not apply to regular interior renovations, and you do not need a permit for exterior maintenance and repair.
